More Trainer News

Whilst searching for more info on the London ID lab (see post below) I came across this rather wonderful guide to shoe lacing at Sneaker Freaker, some great variations, personally I'm rather taken by the Lattice…

…also well worth checking out the link to Ian (Professor Shoelace) Fieggens site - it's this kind of thing that makes me love the internet.

Trainer News

Whilst picking up my newly repaired powerbook from the apple store (worst customer experience of my life, but that's another story) I managed to pop into Nike Town for a quick nose and a bit of retail therapy.

The central atrium is currently filled with scaffolding and much construction gubins. I'm told they are building an ID Lab in the middle of the store. Great to see them continuing to develop the shop and I'm looking forward to see how they integrate the ID experience into a retail environment, I just hope it's not going to be invite only, like the New York lab.

Inspired, I visited the ID site when I got home and knocked up this pair of Air Max 91s in the Flourish livery, a fitting treat to celebrate our upcoming first birthday…

The Morning After

Came across this whilst walking to the station this morning…

It's almost too painful to imagine the circumstances that led to it being cast aside.

What People Really Think

One of the great benefits of user generated content for an agency like us, is that we can find out what people really think about things we've been involved with.

Last week was the first T-Mobile Street Gig of 2007, it featured Mika playing a specially erected big top in Berkeley Square.

We're lucky enough to look after the creative side of these gigs - the branding, identity, venue design, screen conent, etc. A quick search of the web a week after the gig yields a mass of real, uncomplicated feedback - there's photos with comments at Flickr, video clips of the performance on You Tube, discussions on the evening at Mika Forums and peoples thoughts on the night posted at a range of blogs, hell some of the passes we created are even for sale on eBay

I find it really inspiring, it's an opportunity for us to learn what worked and what didn't, it gives a great sense of satisfaction when someone's had a cracking night out and you helped make it happen. But most of all it's the lack of hidden agenda in the comments, for years we relied on a review in the press or had to wait for expensive research to gauge how well an event went, though both these things are obviously still very important to us, we can now find out what our audience really felt.

985 Pieces of Pleasure

I really, really want one of these…

I collected most of the Starwars lego first time around but missed out on the Millennium Falcon. Now though it's back complete with the following must have features "an escape pod on the port hatch where the occupents can bolt if there's a sign of danger. To fend off evil intruders, the moveable gun turret will come in handy. Includes Chewbacca, C-3PO, Snowtrooper, new Hoth Han Solo and Princess Leia mini figures"
